About Profunda

From the mountains of Artvin, Türkiye.

Profunda was born in the highlands of Artvin, where the Caucasus meets the Black Sea and an extraordinary diversity of wildflowers shapes one of Türkiye’s most distinctive honey-producing regions.

Our honey is gathered by native Caucasian honeybees, known for their exceptionally long proboscis, which allows them to reach nectar deep within alpine flowers. Following the rhythm of the seasons, our hives are surrounded by the wild botanical diversity of the Yalnızçam Mountains.

Profunda was founded by Zeynep Ekşioğlu and Mustafa Altun with a simple ambition: to create exceptional, traceable honey while supporting a future for beekeeping and rural life in Artvin.

Each harvest is produced in limited quantities, carefully handled from hive to jar, and independently analysed to understand and document its natural characteristics.

For us, Profunda is about more than honey. It is about preserving a landscape, its biodiversity and the knowledge of the people who have worked with bees here for generations.
